Shieka's Bistro - Philipsburg

The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and they offer 4 different vegan dishes. I tried the Veggie Sites heaping-to-go container for $12 and found it to be pretty good. The owner mentioned that there are more vegan options available on weekdays, so I plan to come back and check them out. On my return visit, I found more vegetarian options like lasagne and a creamy pasta, but not many additional vegan options. I did enjoy a vegan pumpkin with chicken-peat dish, which was good. Overall, the vegan food was delicious but not very filling, with the exception of the pea bowl. I will provide an update after visiting again to try out the other options.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of Caribbean dishes made with plant-based ingredients. I absolutely love it and would give it 5 stars if I could.

I spent 15 minutes in the scorching heat from my cruise ship just to find out that the only breakfast options available at this restaurant were meat and fish. Despite asking about vegetarian or vegan options, the server did not inform me until 11:30 that they were available, and did not provide a menu until the food arrived. The restaurant lacked fans or air conditioning, making it unbearable to wait an hour to see if I could even eat there. If they were upfront about their options, I could have made a different choice, but it was disappointing to make the trip only to find out later. I would not recommend this restaurant for vegan options.
