Holland House Beach - Philipsburg

My stay at House of Holland on Sint Maarten was an unforgettable experience. The charming blend of modern elegance and tropical ambiance created a luxurious yet cozy environment. The staff's exceptional service, coupled with the well-appointed rooms and the culinary delights at the on-site restaurant, truly exceeded my expectations. Its proximity to local attractions and the tranquil beach views make it an ideal destination for any traveller. Simply put, House of Holland is a true gem on this beautiful Caribbean island.

The hotel is really perfect! The location is great directly on the beautiful Great Bay Beach and in the middle of the city center of Phillipsburg. Beach loungers and beach towels are provided for free for hotel guests. The rooms are very modern and spacious and the ones facing the ocean have a beautiful view. Staff is extremely helpful and kind special thanks to Adriana from reception.

We stayed at this hotel for five days for Carnival. The room and location were great. The housekeeping, front desk, bar staff, even the security personnel provided great customer service, helpful and very friendly; however, a staff member (food runner), in the hotel restaurant, by the name of Maria, was not as customer-focused nor friendly to us. There seems to be a serious lack of organization within the hotel’s restaurant. While the older wait staff are seasoned in the service industry, the younger staff members have no idea what it means to be friendly and customer-centered. Additionally, a family of four sat down at the table beside us 15 minutes after we’d ordered, yet they received their food well before us! Not to mention, our waitress never came to check on us after we placed our order with her. Our interaction with the entire hotel staff was awesome until we encountered Maria, and the waitress on the last day of our visit. Although I’ll stay at the hotel again, I’ll steer clear of the restaurant. The restaurant service there is horrible.

Pre booked prior to recent cruise, excellent communication from the hotel. Good value for money for the beds, umbrella included drinks on a super part of the beach. Beach service was a bit sketchy and could certainly be improved. Didn’t eat but the food and cocktails looked amazing, highly recommended.

I come here when visiting Front Street in Phillipsburg although I have no reason to stay at the hotel when I come here so my review is for the restaurant only. The Ocean Bar and Lounge has great food, great service, fair prices, awesome beach vibe and best of all is the view of the crystal blue waters. We were a party of 6 and our waitress Indy was excellent. She made everyone feel comfortable, was witty and made great suggestions. The hotel and restaurant appears very touristy and is always bustling. They have a nice circular bar and was pretty busy most of the time. This is the second time I’ve been here and they remain consistent. Overall good value for the view, food and the experience.we came for lunch and sat outdoors in a cabana. A few had the coconut pumpkin soup as an appetizer and it was delicious. We also had the wontons which was crispy wontons, avocado, and stone crab or with tomato bruchetta. For lunch we had the grilled salmon with sweet potatoes and mixed veg. A few had the Holland House Burger with fries. We also had the lobster roll and in my opinion the best dish was the sashimi tuna poke bowl. Please look at the photos. I would highly recommend them for lunch or a nice casual meal. There was nothing to really find fault with.
