We dine here pretty often either dine in or take out since it is close to our home. The food is always good and more than enough of it. The people here are nice and helpful as well. Good place to eat!
Service depends on who you get. I wasn't very fond of our waitress when we went because she didn't seem very nice but others I've seen there are wonderful. Food is about what you'd expect for a small place in a rural town. Nothing to rave about but nothing really awful either. Okay is the best way to describe it.
We have dined at Philippi Inn several times and have always enjoyed it, but our experience today was quite disappointing. The food quality was very poor, with most dishes lacking flavor and served cold. When we provided honest feedback to the staff about our unsatisfactory meal, the waitress was unfriendly in her response. A simple, sincere apology would have gone a long way, but unfortunately, we won't be returning or recommending Philippi Inn to anyone based on this visit.
Food was not good at all. The gravy tastes like it come out of a packet. The potatoes were instant. Everything else was very plain. I will only come back for the pie! I actually enjoyed that. Also service was slow and the waitress was not veryattentive. She was very polite though.
I ordered the brown bean special for takeout and when I got home I took one bite of the beans and they tasted sour so I called them and all they had to say was they were made today. They didn?t offer to replace it or anything. So I won?t be going thereagain.
