Was craving sushi and this spot did not disappoint! Exactly what I needed for my Friday night in. The tuna tartare was delish and I had the dancing lobster speciality roll and the volcano speciality roll. It was all super good. I ordered delivery and it came even faster than expected. Haven't visited the actual restaurant for dine in but I will definitely be going there again! View all feedback.
What Toni Ficarra doesn't like about Sakura Japanese Cuisine:
There was barely any fish in my rolls at all. Tons of filler especially in the eel cucumber roll. When I tell you it was all cucumber and the smallest sliver of eel, if you even want to call it as much as a sliver, I’m not joking…. It was just a cucumber roll. The salmon looked like they put coloring in it to make it seem fresh and the sashimi was tiny. It all didn’t taste as fresh as sushi should be and the consiste... View all feedback.
I ordered sushi through UberEats around 8:00 PM, and it was ready and delivered by 8:30 PM. I got dumplings, a Philadelphia Roll, and a Shrimp Tempura Roll for about $20, including delivery. The Philadelphia Roll was exceptional, the tempura roll was quite good, and the dumplings were fine, though nothing extraordinary. I will definitely order from them again. My only issue was that they placed the hot dumplings underneath the sushi during packaging, which meant the sushi arrived warm. Other than that, I highly recommend this place!
Although I've been living in this neighborhood for about six years, I only started ordering from this restaurant a year or two ago, and I'm really glad I did—they’re excellent! The sushi rolls are expertly crafted, fresh, and reasonably priced. I often go for the Three Dinner Roll Special, but I’ve also tried some of their specialty rolls. Due to their quality and affordability, Sakura has become one of my favorite sushi places for takeout or delivery, especially with so many sushi options nearby. I plan to continue supporting them and I encourage others to give them a try!
I don't usually write reviews, but I was really impressed with the quality and price of the rolls here. Two rolls for just $8.50? You can't beat that! In comparison, Acme charges $7 to $10 for a single roll. This is definitely the best spot for a good roll near North Broad.
Good pricing but they seem to hold back on the amount of fish in the rolls, making the spicy tuna/salmon rolls mostly breading.Food: 3/5
Amazing sushi and the best spicy mayo I've ever had. I don't get sushi anymore unless it's from here
