seems like a nice neighborhood place, the waitress was friendly and helpful. I had my first torta Cubana, and it was nicely made, chicken cutlets were crispy. the portion was HUGE, I had enough for another whole meal to take home . However, I want to provide an update from 2019. I’m not sure if it’s due to their renovations—like the new tables and chairs and updated cutlery—but the quality of the food has significantly declined. I’m talking about cheap vegetables that seem to be just steamed in a bag. When I visited in May 2019, everything I ordered tasted artificial! It was extremely disappointing, lacking flavor, and there were burnt pieces of what tasted like fake beef. The quality just isn’t what it used to be. I guess I won’t be returning anytime soon, which is really sad. I know the food may LOOK appealing, but the powdered cheese and imitation rice are just not a substitute for the white rice and real shredded cheese we used to enjoy. What a letdown!
Looking back at an old review, I’ve noticed significant changes in the operation over the past two years since my last visit. I’ve been there twice recently, but I wasn’t very impressed. On my second visit, I ordered a carnitas burrito, which unfortunately had several large pieces of cartilage that made for a disappointing experience. There are better dining options in the area. Also, I should mention that it’s cash only, which isn’t clearly indicated and caught me off guard during my first visit.
Every meal I've had here has been amazing. The food is of high quality and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the enchiladas platter and any of the burritos.
Tried this place out as I'm trying to find the best Tacos in the South Philly Mexican Community. Incredible Al Pastor Tacos. I will be back for sure!
The food tasted very fresh and authentic, even down to the chips and salsa. The reason I decided to deduct a star is because they obly accept cash, and there's no ATM. We unfortunately didn't know that ahead of time.
