The food is great at IndieBlue. However, if you want an amazing experience, sit at the bar with Ian. Especially during happy hour. Have the Chicken Makhani Poutine while you drink! View all feedback.
Great interpretation on Indian fusion! Perfect spot for a nice dinner with family or SO, but SUPER fun and tasty spot for brunch! I have been here probably 6-7 times now over 2 years and have sat through regular weekday, weekend, restaurant week and brunch service and can say they are consistent in quality, quantity and ambiance! My favorite dishes are the spinach chaat, Malai kofta and whoever dessert the server recommends that day : if you like to drink, I suggest trying the martini! This was one of the first restaurants I visited when I moved to Philly for medical school. Call me sentimental, but I will always remember the way the manager congratulated me and brought out celebratory champagne flutes for me and my friend. He spent a good 10 minutes asking about where I went to college and what I wanted to do in the future and it really made me feel comfortable in a city I knew very little about. Small gestures like that speak volumes about the ethics that circulate in the training and hiring process! Incredibly saddened to hear that they are moving locations, but if you live near their new spot, please give it a look! Thank you for being one of the first to help Philly feel like home!
Not your typical brunch spot, but a great brunch spot nonetheless. I thoroughly enjoyed the ****** mary's had a spicy kick to them that normal ****** mary's do not. I ordered the vegetarian samosas as I waited for my friend, which were quite good. No complaints here, but also I am a noob when it comes to Indian food, so I don't have too many things to compare it too. Regardless! I really liked the flavoring of the samosas. When my friend arrived we ordered a mimosa pitcher, which we finished quite fast. I thought for 27$ it was a pretty good drink deal. Would definitely recommend this spot for a boozy brunch. My friend ordered the brunch thali, which came with a bunch of stuff it was like a whole meal with different courses in one box. I wish I had ordered that too it also came with the samosa, an entree, roti, and a small dessert. Again, I didn't expect this to be a brunch place but I thought it was really neat. Would recommend!!
IndieBlue is a well-decorated and nice Indian restaurant. The menu is fairly diverse and will satisfy your cravings. The food was good, not great but one area of improvement would be their staff. Our server was extremely confused and had little clue of what was going, brought out the bill at an inappropriate time, tried to take away our food mid-bite. Overall, good spot that I enjoy and will return to but improving hiring practices would be beneficial

Great service! We asked if the chicken was halal and our server made sure to go to the back and properly check and confirm. It was halal! Do ask because suppliers can change. Decor is nice and intimate. Restaurant is clean and the back curtain was open and I could see a part of the kitchen that also looked super clean. malai kofta khubani amazing flavors! the kofta was minced paneer in a meatball shape! I never had paneer like this, I typically have it in cubes. Also got the madras which was flavorful! There's a tendency for desi restaurants to give a lot of salan aka curry aka the liquid part but not enough body meat or paneer etc . I really have a problem with this! It's like fishing for food!!! Both entrees are supposed to come with rice and the server asked if we wanted naan also, I said sure, one piece is fine. He came out with only one bowl of rice and charged me for the naan. Did he just compile both of our rices in one bowl? Is this a marketing tactic to get me to think it's either rice or naan and then just wrongfully charge customers? also, looks like the menu tends to change so just wait to get to the restaurant and decide what you want to eat
