BOK in South Philly beautifully blends my passions for history, food, and architecture all in one place. Situated in a 1936 school building from the FDR era, it serves as a vibrant hub for artists, creators, restaurateurs, and business owners—about half of whom are women. After savoring a sesame bagel with blueberry compote at the nearby Korshak, I made my way to BOK for a coffee at Two Persons Coffee, an independent... View all feedback.
What Halie Kovacek doesn't like about Bok:
You, along with everyone else, are there for the view, so expect it to be crowded even on the stickiest of days and for spot along the wall to be slim pickins. Cocktails are meh, so you’re better off getting something in a can where the outcome is as expected. The reason for the 3 stars well there’s no way to sugarcoat this or sound nice so I’ll just come out and say it…COCKROACHES. I won’t share the sizes with you f... View all feedback.
This place is awesome. I always bring out of town guests here if they've never visited the city before. Located on the top of an old school, this rooftop bar gives you perfect city skyline views and a great place for a sunset. Pretty good beer selection as well!
The views are breathtaking! The service was excellent very kind and welcoming. I want to take everyone I know here!
Bok Bar should be in every tour guide book in Philly. Breath taking views with hip vibe. We visited South Philly for its Frizwit/PoiDog pop up. The food was amazing, the drinks were delightful, and the atmosphere was electric. I wholeheartedly recommend Bok Bar as a truly Philadelphian experience.
Really nice view of the city. Really good customer service and very attentive. It's very spacious and the tables are spaced out. This place is very popular so reservations are required otherwise you risk getting no seating. Because it's very popular, reservations are limited it 1.5 hours and 1.5 hours goes by very quickly if you're having fun chitchatting away like me! The drink options are fantastic. There's some food snacks but nothing big and grand but i heard they rotate the food snack options often. Just in the day I was there, the food options were ok. Still overall was great, great atmosphere.
Bok has new chefs every single month, and every month it seems they knock it out of the park. A beautiful view of a beautiful city, and delicious food and drink? C'mon now folks, it doesn't get better than this.
