However, recent experiences indicate a decline in food quality and service, with reviews highlighting inconsistent dishes such as flavorless chicken and waffles, tough lamb chops, and slow service during busy hours. Although some patrons praise specific menu items, like crispy Brussels sprouts and delicious desserts, many express disappointment over outdated menus and inattentive staff. Despite its appeal, the restaurant seems to struggle with consistency, prompting some loyal patrons to seek new brunch alternatives. Reservations are recommended due to its limited seating.
This restaurant offers brunch, lunch, and dinner options. They are BYOB and located in the Cedar Park neighborhood of West Philadelphia. There are numerous vegan and vegetarian choices on the menu, such as Curry Tofu Scramble, Roasted Garlic Hummus, and Aksumite Vegetable Tajin Curry Tofu. Many dishes can be made vegan by simply omitting the cheese. It is recommended to make a reservation if you want to avoid waiting in line for brunch.
I brought my wife and children here to the birthday brunch. good is, this restaurant offers all day the complete menu. I could contain the lamb copper food that contains green bean and kartoffel. my wife and my children have ordered breakfast. our waitress was friendly and warmed up after a short time. that was great while we close, the chef came out and asked us how it was eating. That was pretty cool. I love good experiences, and our time in aksum was one of them. I also love the fact that this restaurant is black-famous. I recommend you visit them all. they will not be disappointed
The food, the service and the atmosphere were great!
I went about almost two weeks ago and didn't stop thinking about this huh! well seasoned with perfectly cooked vegetables. I am going back on Friday
I have many fond memories of Aksum from years ago, but for whatever reason their quality has dropped dramatically. This wouldn't be as frustrating if their prices had lowered, as well, but at the moment they are charging gourmet prices for food that is merely tolerable. My most recent experience was brunch, so perhaps they put more effort in for dinner, but I ordered eggs benedict with salmon, and every ingredient except the egg seemed to have been purchased from a grocery store, pulled directly out of a fridge, and put on my plate without cooking. The side of potatoes were decent, but for $20 I got a brunch that was significantly worse than I could have gotten for $5 at a cafe next to my house. My friends' meals seemed equally uninspired. Notably, I have had these same dishes that we ordered from Aksum in the past and know what they could taste like if the restaurant bothered to keep up its quality. The staff were friendly, and since it's Halloween they even gave us free candy, but I would rather have the nice meal I paid for than a nice person trying to make me feel better after the fact.
