Edith's Mexican Buffet - Pharr
Edith's Mexican Buffet
Description
Edith’s Mexican Buffet delights with homestyle Mexican dishes—pollo con mole, enchiladas, menudo and a robust breakfast spread—served from a compact, constantly replenished buffet. Clean, warmly decorated and staffed by friendly servers, it’s a lively, casual spot prized for authentic flavors and good value. Expect popularity-driven waits and limited parking (with a veterans’ spot), an early 3 PM closing, and cozy seating that can feel cramped for larger meetings.

Delicious buffet food! Loved their beans, potatoes and bacon. The bacon was a smidgen chewy but it was overall great.
Over rated! Food is kind of bland but the service was good. Most likely will not come back!
We came out to try Edith's Buffet. We had a 30 minute wait. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The service was good. The buffet was constantly being replenished. The food for me and my family was bland. But that is just us.
The only downside was the parking and the wait time. As a service member, I appreciated the designated parking spot for veterans. We had to wait around 20 minutes before being seated. I mention this so you're aware: parking can be limited, and a wait is likely. However, if you prioritize quality over quantity and love hearty, home-cooked flavors, you should definitely visit Edith’s!
I typically don't care for buffets, but this charming little Mexican restaurant really impressed me. While the selection may not be vast, every dish is truly delicious. The Pollo con Mole is outstanding, and the rice is perfectly cooked. The tortillas have a fresh, homemade taste, and the salsas are excellent too. The atmosphere is vibrant, though not overly formal, and the staff is very friendly. The only drawback is that they close at 3 PM. We will definitely return!
