Description

This busy truck-stop near I‑55 blends practical conveniences — fuel, EV chargers, a food court with highly praised chicken tenders, clean restrooms, limited parking and a motel next door — with friendly service that stands out. A recent remodel expanded the kitchen, but chronic understaffing and early kitchen closures frequently leave breakfast unavailable during morning rushes, and occasional management lapses have made some amenities temporarily inaccessible.

The kitchen closes early, which suggests they don’t believe people eat after 6 PM. Perhaps they should consider reallocating the funds spent on electric vehicle charging stations to hire more kitchen staff.

This is a very convenient restaurant. The staff is polite and friendly. I plan to make this my go-to stop during my travels. Thank you!

I visit this restaurant at least three times a week, and every other Friday as well. It seems like there's only one employee who is actually working. I can't believe they're allowing a 90-pound girl to fill 20-pound bags of ice while three men are just standing around doing nothing.

Need a back up plan here...At least three times now, since the expensive remodel to expand the kitchen, has there been no food choices available at the 6 am hour. This is a truck stop. Breakfast choices should be available very early, if not 24/7. This morning, myself and at least 3 others, truckers, construction workers etc. were wanting to purchase breakfast, in just the short time I was there, and the employee once again overslept. By the time he/she gets in and gets all the food prepared and in the chutes, the bulk of the breakfast rush will have been through. I applaud the employee to work instead of staying home and letting the government support them, but, a back up plan needs to be in place. When one employee doesn't show up on time, it shouldn't cripple the whole operation. Too much money was spent on this remodel to loose the revenue of no food available. I frequent Express Mart locations, multiple times each day and will continue. But, please, do yourself and your customers a favor and get a back up plan in place, so if one person doesn't show up on time, the whole kitchen isn't shut down. Do you have too many eggs in one basket?
