Negative reviews mention watery curry, overcooked naan, and even food poisoning. However, positive reviews rave about delicious butter chicken, friendly staff, and great vegetarian options. While some found the prices reasonable and service great, others felt the portion sizes were small for the price. Despite varying opinions on Masala Art, it seems to be worth a try, especially for those who appreciate authentic Indian cuisine.
This restaurant is delicious and offers great value for its reasonably priced menu. I frequently travel to Brisbane for work and will definitely become a regular customer. Their takeout options are also fantastic.
We stumbled upon Masala Art on a Saturday night and found it to be the most popular shop among the ones still open. I ordered the Patak Curry with rice for $10 and it was delicious with excellent flavor. My son surprised me by ordering the lemon grass chicken curry, a dish I've never seen him eat before, and he loved it too. We also tried the fish and chips, which was surprisingly fantastic for an Indian restaurant. The prices were reasonable, around $10 per dish with currency conversion to about $8 US. They accept credit cards and the service was great. The staff was pleasant and patient with our indecision. Although it was our last night in Brisbane and we may not visit Masala Art again, we were very happy to have enjoyed it once.
This is a sweet little place with good quick Indian food. The counter people are really friendly and the food very good. What sealed it for me: they have a sign behind the counter that says homeless get a free meal after 1045am . A restaurant with Heart. I 'll be back. Thank you
I recently took advantage of a great deal on Groupon at Masala Art, where you could buy 2 curries for the price of one. I ended up getting 5 and was not disappointed! Located in the CBD, Masala Art has become a go-to spot for many evening meals. The lamb vindaloo and rogan josh were packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. The meat was tender and soaked up the curry sauce perfectly. The butter chicken was another favorite of mine, with its moist meat and sweet tangy sauce. The service was top-notch and they accepted my Groupons without any problems. The curries are set up cafeteria-style, making takeout quick and efficient. The only downside is that without the discount, the curries can be a bit pricey. The portions are also on the smaller side, requiring about 1.5 containers to feel satisfied. Despite these minor issues, I would still recommend Masala Art for a simple and delicious dinner, especially if you're craving Indian food.
Really love this place, I work in the city and we have a serious lack of good quick Indian food near the office. It's always fresh, fast and well priced. They are lovely staff, the chef guy sometimes looks a little tired but I know id look the same if I had his workload! Because Brisbane people love this place !!!! Everyone in the office I work at raves about. How good they are!
