Lovely people running this place. Extras added to our order which was very nice. Had more than enough for one meal and left some fish for lunch next day. After previously enjoying great coffee and lunch at Cuba Street, we were eagerly anticipating our take-away on a chilly Sunday evening, at the recently opened Drunken Sailor next door. I was expecting a larger piece of fish for the price. My partner's grilled fish was delicious, but cold. My dish was tender and chewy, not light and crispy as I had hoped. The calamari was well-spiced and delicious. However, all the dishes were served lukewarm, bordering on cold.
I was extremely disappointed with my dining experience. The portion sizes were incredibly small and some of our orders were missing. When I informed the staff, they showed no concern. As a regular patron of Marcoola, I will not be returning to this restaurant for food again.
We placed our order over the phone while staying at the Ramada. The staff was very helpful during the order process. The food was ready on time and packaged nicely for us to take with us. The food was very enjoyable. We ordered a variety of items including hamburgers, calamari, loaded fries, and crispy mushrooms, all of which were delicious, fresh, and crispy. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying nearby or passing through.
When we saw the beautiful furnishings and the atmosphere, we decided to eat. really good fish and chips, super friendly service and good price. highly recommended.
