We explained to the hostess we had a party of 6 adults and 3 kids (needing hig... read more Our first night on vacation was met with nasty, unprofessional, terrible service. We explained to the hostess we had a party of 6 adults and 3 kids (needing high chairs) and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. No problem. After 50ish minutes, they proceeded to seat us at a HIGH TABLE that children’s high chairs wouldn’t reach. We noticed that they were seating smaller groups at shorter tables who waited far less than we did for the proper arrangements, parties that could’ve been seated at the high tables (since they’re all adults) in order to properly seat us at small tables with high chairs. They tried to tell us that due to their mistake it would be another 20 minute wait. No way. We kindly reminded them they KNEW it was a party with 3 kids and by this time we’re beyond hungry and haven’t even sat down yet! The manager then came over and immediately approached us with this intimidating, nearly fighting posture with language that appalled anyone within earshot. It was embarrassing. We calmed her down and tried to reason with her that if we left now it would be SO LATE we would t have any options. So they sat us 15 minutes later only to tell us their fryer was down (no chicken tenders, cheese curds, etc) so no kids food. Needless to say, we left. I can’t imagine ever going here again. Not only would I not come here I would have no choice but to tell others the crazy experience we had before they weighed their options in the future. Great beer. Embarrassing manager. Sad.

The fig burger and the Smokin' Betty are absolutely amazing, and the waitstaff is exceptional. We've been dining here for years; it's our favorite restaurant in Petoskey.

I only stopped in for the Michigan Cherry Hard Seltzer, which had a lot of cherry flavor without being overly sweet (had two of them). I will definitely be back the next time I am in Petoskey, which is hopefully more sooner than later!
