This fish restaurant is a jewel of a sound! we discovered it on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. it is from the tourist stretch and serves incredible Ital... read more This fish restaurant is a jewel of a sound! we discovered it on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. it is from the tourist stretch and serves incredible Italian food at a reasonable price. it is popular with local and good reason. everything we ordered was 5 stars! the deserts were mouthwater. but the best part was the personal warm, friendly and welcoming. they explained the menu and the different courses in English. I would like to recommend this restaurant very warmly to everyone who visits perugia. well made l’acciuga il vizio.

The food excelled, featuring twists on the familiar (spaghetti with cinnamon and nutmeg; risotto with celery jus and horseradish), the inventive (crab with pear overlaid with black garlic gelatin and sauced with green bean extract) and the whimsical (beer ice cream and caramel popcorn for dessert). The wine pairings were sublime, exclusively Italian and mostly Umbrian. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, with five servers quietly dancing around our table in carefully choreographed and practiced roles. The ambience was like a private dinner party, with small and large tables enjoying themselves in the company of others. This is what fine dining looks like in 2022. For people with mobility impairments: totally wheelchair accessible.
