Il Moderno Perugia Centro Slow

In the heart of Perugia, there is a lovely restaurant with a very special atmosphere. It is the Moderno restaurant. I sat outside and I could read the menu through the QR code. I got the pappa al pomodoro and a chocolate mousse, made with rice milk. The chef explained that she makes the rice milk herself and I think this is relevant detail and it does make the difference! The food was very good and it is affordable

A small but full of personality. Vegan options are not lacking and staff is kind and helpful

The location is small and, in my opinion, really beautiful. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with food. The options are few and not too exciting. As a first dish I took pasta with celery pesto and nuts and the pesto was not as I expected: it was liquid and the taste was monotonous. I would have liked to hear more nuts, in this dish according to me nonexistent, maybe cut coarsely so to give a little crispness and break the tiring taste of the sauce. Then I took the amish cake: a spicy cake of dried fruit accompanied by a rice cream and vanilla milk. In the meantime I really enjoyed the option of a vegan dessert and the first spoons were very good, but then to finish I made a lot of effort, as heavy and stucco. Instead of the cream I would have accompanied a sour jam, for example of raspberries, to lighten everything. At prices you can't say anything, right. Reading the other reviews I was disappointed by the experience I had.

La location è piccola e, a mio parere, davvero bellissima. Il personale è molto gentile e accogliente. Purtroppo, sono rimasta delusa dal cibo. Le opzioni disponibili sono poche e non troppo entusiasmanti. Come primo piatto ho ordinato pasta con pesto di sedano e noci, ma il pesto non era come me lo aspettavo: era troppo liquido e il sapore risultava monotono. Avrei gradito che il sapore delle noci fosse più pronunciato, in questo piatto sembravano inesistenti; forse tagliate grossolanamente avrebbero aggiunto un po' di croccantezza e spezzato il gusto stancante della salsa. Successivamente ho provato la torta amish: un tortino speziato di frutta secca accompagnato da una crema di latte di riso e vaniglia. Ho particolarmente apprezzato la presenza di un dessert vegano e le prime cucchiaiate erano realmente buone, ma poi ho fatto abbastanza fatica a terminarlo, risultando pesante e stucchevole. Invece della crema avrei preferito una marmellata acida, come quella di lamponi, per rendere il tutto più leggero. Per quanto riguarda i prezzi, non c'è nulla da dire, sono giusti. Leggendo le altre recensioni, sono rimasta delusa dall'esperienza che ho avuto.
