My partner and I walked into a wedding function here by mistake and went to the bar to order a drink before going to dinner. The black haired female bartender (which I later found out was the OWNER, Rachael Niall !! asked if we were part of the wedding party, we said no. Instead of saying politely that it was a private function and that we couldn 't drink there tonight, she just gestured rudely to the bride over in the corner, to which I had to blatantly ask her what she was going on about. Once we realized it was a private function I then turned to my partner and said we should go. The nasty woman must have misheard what I had said, as she asked me something along the lines of what did you say? and as we were walking out I clearly heard her tell us to f off . That 's right, we as customers were told by the OWNER to f off because she thought we had said something rude, which we certainly did not. Even if we had said something untoward, there is no excuse for receiving such behavior and language from someone in a professional customer service role. Now my partner and I are (were loyal customers of Budburst, coming here 2 3 times per month. No more. We would expect this type of disappointing behavior from a 18 year old casual, not the owner with 17 years in the industry. Disgusting

Decor ambience were superb, the wine selection impressive we had the benefit of a wine tasting with Rachel who has created this gem. Got to taste wines i normally would not have tried. Couldn't get a table for dinner as booked out but the cheese board was a beauty. Looking forward to returning soon

There's a good selection of beer and wine to suit every... read more Hubby and I had a rare toddler free moment before dinner and took the opportunity to have a quick drink. There's a good selection of beer and wine to suit every taste. Hubby try a beer he never heard of before and I large glass of Tempranillo (don't you love it when places give you actual glasses of wine and not a sample size). Both hit the spot. Though we weren't looking for food the menu was too tempting so we ordered the duck parfait. The parfait was oh so smooth and with the perfect ratio if brioche and crisp bread. It is a quaint homey feel, which makes it not child friendly woo hoo! We'll be coming back to try it for dinner. Street parking can be a pain.

The owner m... read more In addition to retaining the quaint alleyway from its predecessor, Wee Bar, they've converted the back area into a spacious medium-sized restaurant. The owner mentioned they recently hosted a wedding there, which is impressive. I’ve only visited the bar so far, but the staff were friendly and provided excellent recommendations from the wine list. One suggestion for improvement would be to expand the food menu to include a few more options, like salads and heartier dishes, especially for those who want to fully enjoy the wine selection and need something to accompany their drinks. Overall, it's a great spot that's definitely worth checking out.
