What Jonas Kautzer doesn't like about The Lucky Shag Waterfront Bar:
Great venue for a sunny day along the river for drinks, dining and catching up with friends. Drinks are regularly priced here, in comparison to the slightly more expensive bars nearby. Food wise - typical of pubs, decent portion and tastes fine. I had the steak sandwich - shame bacon costs extra to add and steak was a little overdone and dry. Otherwise the caramelised onion was tasty and chips done well. Service was... View all feedback.
Love the lucky shag for the atmosphere and drinks! But ********* I've never ever had a Thai beef salad like this how horrible the worst I've ever had!!

Awesome first date spot. Out the back on the deck the view and atmosphere are sensational. Prices slightly above normal pub value but sip slow and the view more than makes up for it ????
Been coming here fairly regularly for the last 8 years since I moved to WA. Great location and generally pretty good customer service. I used to rate the Seafood Platter for 2 it used to be $60 and loaded with chilli muscles, squid, 2 type of fish grilled and battered, 4 x oyster kilpatrik. It was always a staple when my partner and ate there. About a year ago the sea food platter for 2 was changed to $45 and significantly reduced with what was on offer, the most recent was little more than an overpriced deep fried fisher mans basket, only 2 oysters, 5 chilli muscles no salmon and less fish. Dissapointing outcome. Also the price of beer is getting up there. $10.80 for a basic local Swan Draught. I dont mind paying over $10 for a premium or craft beer for a for a basic ale I think its pushing it a bit.
The Lucky Shag is pretty iconic in Perth. It's got to have one of the best views for a drinking hole, situated on the Swan River. have come down to the Shag for a fair few drinking sessions over the years and have always had a good time. Finding a table can always be a pain, so probably best to avoid peak times. The food is your typical 'pub food', so don't go expecting a gourmet spread.
