The Good Shepherd Pub offers a decent overall experience, with a good selection of drinks in a nice location. However, the food seems to be hit or miss, with some customers experiencing disappointing meals. The service has also been inconsistent, with reports of long waits and rude staff. On the positive side, the atmosphere is great for enjoying drinks with friends, and some customers have praised the generous portions, delicious flavors, and friendly staff. Overall, The Good Shepherd Pub seems to be a mixed bag, with some aspects worthy of a visit while others may leave something to be desired.

Was Fiona Hawke at The Generous Squire a mag?
As soon as we walked in we were hit in the face with lovely smells coming from the kitchen. We were the only ones in the restaurant so were seated quickly. Ordered the lamb rack while my husband had the pork belly. Both were cooked perfectly however I found that there was so much fat on the actual lamb that there was hardly any meat. Pork belly was really nice though and both were good portion sizes. Definitely a nic... View all feedback.
What cybacaT dislikes about The Generous Squire:
I 've been to the GS a few times. Service is ok 6/10 Drinks a good selection 8/10 Location 8/10 Food 2/10 Most recently I took a group along and 2 of us had chicken burgers here and there were atrocious. Tiny bun, large chicken that seemed to be boiled, 1/2 litre of sauce, that looked like it was thrown at the plate as it was all over. I made a point of letting the staff know and was greeted with an unsurprised and a... View all feedback.
Came here for a quick light lunch - the Salt n pepper Squid was really tasty. The slider trio were not so nice with big meatballs inside - Edible and nothing wrong with them just not anything to rave about and only 2 got eaten. Others ordered steak and steak sandwich with fries and they had no complaints - l would go back for the squid it was a decent serving size to share and loads of flavour!
Came here just before peak hour for lunch on a Wednesday. Managed to beat the crowd but service was still slow despite the fact that we were the only table at the restaurant area. When the food finally arrived it was a huge disappointment. We ordered the pork belly and 3 pig pizza and both dishes were a massive let down. Pork belly was overcooked, meat was tough and the crackling was a little chewy. Pizza was underdone and very doughy eventhough the pizza base was thin. Overall a very disappointing experience and pricey for the quality of food received. We came here a year ago for lunch and really enjoyed it so don't know what happened since.
Fantastic brewpub inside of an old building with pub fare and mostly home brews... I would definitely come back here again next time I find myself in Western Australia.
I have been here a few times and on both occasions the food was excellent and the service reasonably good. A little expensive for a pub meal however this is not your traditional pub. Would recommend
