We were excited about the all you can eat aspect of asian tapas but disappointed to find out that we only got 10 dishes. Saying that the food was lovely and well worth the groupon value. Waitress was entertaining and cute with her explanation of each meal. View all feedback.
What Raymond Gulgowski doesn't like about Sun BBQ And Cafe:
Came here with partner and kids. Lots of fried chicken. I suppose KFC Korean fried chicken.
Plus side lots of food quantity
Down side poor quality and too much sauce.
Expensive
Not that good really. View all feedback.
Forgiveable. Forgot to use this voucher till few days before expiry date, possibly put off by other reviews. Came twice coz i got 2 vouchers for 2 $29ea; 1 (busy) dinner with a girl; 1 (quiet) lunch with a guy to broaden my views and experience. Both friends agree it wasnt as bad as others say. Yes they didnt honor their voucher of all u can eat, which i totally agree is bad and can only hurt their business. But what they serve is alot and satisfying enough its no diff to all u can eat. Diner jim1 sums it up. For about $15 pp inc drink u got chicken, fries, scallop, beef tataki, oyster and more. What more do ppl want? How big of scallops do you expect? Left 1/4 of fries but didnt get charged, maybe we were just lucky unlike others. Food was average, not bad but nothing stand out as amazing. Yes their english is not the best but both times service was not bad. They have few games available, so we play Scattergories while eating and waiting for food. Both times we wanted to extra order the waffle crunchy honey bread but so full that we couldnt. I might come back coz im still eyeing that gourmet waffle honey bread plus i wanna try their risotto and see if they do better in non-oriental food. Hopefully they dont let me down next time.
Good service Nice food Yam.... Good serviceNice foodYammy dessert!
A Korean colleague recommended this place to eat pork backbone stew (normally has potatoes). This place was the perfect place to warm the winter night with a few friends. We ordered the stew as well as the kimchi pancake. These two dishes were enough to feed four people! Generous servings, food was fantastic and definitely would order again.
Only tried their plate of original deep fried chicken and it was pretty good! Definitely do want to come back to try the actual barbecue meat and hot pots/soup dishes! Really happy they provide gloves too but I guess I can't give them a proper rating after only trying their fried chicken so I will have to come back and update this review when I've tried other items on their menu!
Walked in with friends on a Friday night. Total of 7 of us. The waiter walked us to a table which had already been set up with side dishes. We wanted to order 2 serves of BBQ pork and some fried chicken as well. On ordering, the waiter ridiculously said we were not allowed to order fried chicken unless we order more than 5 serves of BBQ pork. We asked the waiter what is the reason behind it as we could not finish all those meat we had to order and he could not give us any reason. At last we worked out that if we had sat separately, we were allowed to order 2 serves of BBQ pork(as we wanted) and a serve of fried chicken. So we had the 4 of us on one table, and 3 on another table. Then a female waitress came to take our order, she said "in that case, I'll have to take all these side dishes away since we have not ordered 5 serves of BBQ pork to have our fried chicken." She left one serve of each 4 different side dishes on the table. Overall, I would rate the food 5/10. The kimchi soup were very sour and I have never tasted any kimchi soup as sour as that! We couldn't have it down. The fried chicken were nothing special. I reckon nenechicken tasted better with a more reasonable price. Their marinated BBQ pork was delicious although portion was too little for that price. It was such a dissapointment. Their customer service was also poor.. it was such a rip off :( Never going back again.
