Description

Located on a far end of William St, this hidden gem of a Japanese BBQ restaurant offers a cozy dining experience with a nice selection of quality meats. While it can get pricey, the quality of meat is top-notch and definitely worth returning for. The fragrance of charcoal grilling adds to the experience, and the flat rate for salad helps balance out the meal. The staff is friendly, and the menu offers a variety of delicious options, including wagyu, ox tongue, chicken, and pork. The cozy tables with charcoal grills create a unique dining atmosphere, and booking ahead is recommended due to its popularity. Overall, the small establishment is a great find for those looking for quality over quantity in their Japanese BBQ experience.

An absolutely excellent find at the far end of William St. I nearly couldn't find it then saw a huge puff of smoke leave the door as someone went into the tiny spot. I walk past it constantly and never noticed - I'm really glad my friend recommended it! Great staff, very friendly, and cute little buckets under the table to keep your stuff clean and organised as is typical in Japan. The menu is good, with various cuts of stunning quality meats and free refills on your coleslaw - everything I had here was so tasty we could have stayed all night. The takoyaki were so fresh and yummy, the karaage chicken were nice too but definitely make sure to order the coleslaw as you do need something fresh after all the meats. We had so many types and all meats were scrumptious - the wagyu, ox tongue, chicken, pork - everything. I love the neat little vaccuum tube to keep the smoke clear and I'm definitely planning a return. Loved it!!

This is certainly a case of quality over quantity. You can definitely get larger portions elsewhere but the quality of meat they serve here is worth every cent. Add the fragrance of the charcoal it's cooked over and you have a winning combination! Having the flat rate for salad also helps make this a reasonably balanced meal. I recommend asking for the spring onion dipping sauce to go with the meal.
