Almost missed this hipster cafe. Wasn't expecting anything to be opened at but this was opened at Served up one hell of a hearty breakfast and coffee. Especially those staying along Pier St, like Pensione, do drop by View all feedback.
What Luca Kaya doesn't like about Mercado Negro:
I drop in here when I need a moment. It's not that busy and there's no great fuss. It makes food that improves the simpler that you go. I once tried a posher salad and was disappointed. So I just grab a decent coffee and...a toasted sandwich and that's just fine. I can sit and gaze into nowhere for ages if I need to. Music soundtrack is cool and just the right volume for an old fart like me so I appreciate that too.... View all feedback.
This is a good place to get a cooked breakfast and coffeeDeceptively large makes for plenty of seating.
I stopped in for a quick takeaway coffee and was very happy I did.
First time hereService was friendly & had indoor & outdoor seating.
Havent been here for ages since we came for breakfast once. Breakfast was disappointing and got no wow factor. Back then I wasnt a coffee snob like these days, we probably didnt try their coffee. So I went back and bought their coffee on the weekend. It's surprisingly good. I would definitely go back for coffee, not food.
Don't get to that part of the CBD very often but on a friend's recommendation I trotted down to give this cafe a try. I am glad that I did because I enjoyed my coffee/lunch! Mercado Negro's food isn't fancy but it is nice and the coffee is good. The fact that it is on the cheap side which is a bonus. blogsbygabrielle.blogspot.com
