We helped ourselves to menus and a table be... read more Loved the kitsch and cool vibe of this little tucked away lane as we called in for breakfast on a Saturday morning! We helped ourselves to menus and a table before heading inside to order. I had the 'holmes' stack with a chai latte while hubby had the eggs benny with a latte. Coffees arrived promptly. I loved how the chai was served in a small pot and strainer with fresh spices but perhaps would have liked a larger cup to go with it and for it to be a touch hotter. Brekky arrived soon after. I was very pleased with the holmes stack - the corn fritter was fresh, nice crispy bacon and a soft poached egg with avo smash and dukkah - couldn't fault it. Hubby enjoyed his eggs benny but bacon and eggs may have been a more apt name due to the lack of hollondaise (about a teaspoon worth). When it was delivered to the table, the waitress did advise if he would like more to ask (which suggests she knew it was a pitiful amount to begin with) - but really, venturing back inside to ask for more hollondaise while your breakfast goes cold isn't exactly tempting.  Service was friendly, albeit a bit rushed (which was odd as it wasn't slammed) prices average for Perth. Would be interested to see this place in action during when they have live music on!
