What User doesn't like about The Tavern:
two of us came to a late lunch, I order the chipotle chicken sluice that should come with acidic cream and limette that never did. the hen was very hard and chewing and all that was in the pack was hard. partner had fish and chips that were above average. batter was very pale and soggy. they also ordered a pint of the lager that tasted. would not recommend and will not come back. Unfortunate experience. Me and a friend decided to come into your establishment for dinner. I arrived first and was told I could sit anywhere and was given a menu,I was asked if I wanted a drink and I ordered a Diet Coke. I waited 20mins...and it never arrived. I tried to flag down the wait staff but was ignored by both. When my friend arrived we were approached again and ordered drinks which we finally got. We asked for a little more time with menu. However what was a little upsetting was once we decided what we wanted we were sat waiting for almost 25mins for someone to come take our ordered as we watched the only member of staff who now appeared to be on his own take the orders of people who had arrived after us. I once again tried to flag down the wait staff but was yet again ignored. In the end we ended up paying for our drinks and went to eat somewhere else. We both find this was an unfortunate and frustrating experience as we have been in before and the food and service was great.
Great lunch at The Tavern. The waitresses were adorable and the food was great. They serve typical Scottish pub food. Nice atmosphere. I highly recommend!
Had macaroni cheese which was lovely. Oven chips. Tiny bit of salad with no dressing. Staff lovely and attentive. Nice looking place. Could do better.
Last time I was here I really enjoyed my meal but despite a warm welcome and a very helpful waitress a few fish scraps in a non-existent Thai sauce I would describe the portion as a light lunch and quality of food well below par.
I have been a couple of times for lunch now, working with workers both as a team, the seats are comfortable, everything is clean and freshly decorated. the food is served in beautiful portions, tastes beautiful with fresh salad. her table mat is like a leaf time with layers over perth, readable while waiting for her, especially the tourist. I took my mother and vater there on Saturday and they both loved it, dad had what he described as probably the best gambmonsteak he had from the special day, mama had macaroni cheese, too much for them to eat, but I had some to taste and it was really nice. I had awarded the 'lindsay 's steak pie with kartoffel, broccolli and carrots! my wife loves the panninis, nuff said! Candy menu is worth saving space for, sticky toffee pudding to die, and apfel crumb with a crug of Custard cream or ices an option large portions there for sweet tooths! coffee is 'illy' brand, and they get a nice cake / cookies about 1 square with it, which is a nice change from the usual wee round. this is a newly opened pub that has made me try to go there as the first choice.
