Very much enjoyed our few days at the Hydro. Good selection of activities to do, we took part in shooting and had a great instructor though I forgot to get his name. Great surroundings and stunning views from the rooms. Loads of trail walks to do and kind of place you can spend as much or as little as meets the wallet. Food was great in both restaurants. Pool was just ok busy with kids but expected at a family hotel. Great night away
Booked with the inefficient app then chaos on arrival as staff merged our tables on the system with other tables booked at a different time. Food was mediocre there are 2 i Italian restaurants in Crief. Accoutics terrible so a sort of loud and echoey blare. Air con on full so condensate dripped on the table and despite it being a heatwave two of us had to get coats to wear to eat. Then a complete fiasco with the bill and staff blaming a customer for this taking no responsibility whatsoever to dissentangle the bills. Person they said asked them to merge the bills stated very clearly that he didnt. Average food terrible atmosphere horrible experience. Cannot stress enough try the pizzeria 10 mins walk away. Horrible expensive night none of us had alcohol or desserts or starters still ended up shelling out more than 20 quid each despite most of us having 12/13 pound meals. Horrible horrible evening.
Usually we stay in Culcrieff lodges but decided to have a short break in the hotel to start the school holidays.Stayed in a family apartment which was ideal. We all had space.Glens Den is a great addition somewhere the teens could disappear to. Breakfast as always was excellent and booking a time slot reduced queuing time. Very nice dinner in the Terrace.Enjoyed by all especially grandson who had fillet steak. Dinner in Tiffin was exceptional.Winter Garden was a lovely setting.Food was full of flavour ,tender.meat and great spicing. Staff in restaurant abd reception were all very pleasant and helpful. I had thought the children had outgrown thr Hydro but 16years on they still love it
Spa day was fantastic, we had lunch which was lovely then spa and massage with facial. Staff in the terrace and Spa were amazing. Restaurant needs upgrading, tables sticky big gouges out of the wood, windows had been wiped on the inside with dirty cloth, cutlery was difficult shape to hold. Needs upgrading to meet with the cost charged.
While staying at Crieff Hydro, we decided to try The Tiffin menu in the Winter Garden for a birthday celebration. The food was amazing. Not the usual Indian restaurant food we are used to. The meals were very authentic and beautifully presented. We will definitely be dining here again. The Tiffin experience is a great addition to the hotel’s restaurant experience.
