What Francis Ward doesn't like about Castles at the Grampian Hotel:
Lovely hotel though few guests when we were there. Room clean with good sized bed. Unfortunately we got a room facing the busy road and traffic noise was disturbing. Meals fine although as we went on a special offer menu was restricted. View all feedback.
We recently dined at this restaurant and absolutely recommend it. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. There is a wide variety of dishes available, ranging from popular curries to more unique options from Indian and Nepalese cuisine. We stayed late and instead of calling a taxi, the owner graciously offered us a ride back to our hotel in the vicinity. The atmosphere was really pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The location of the hotel was ideal for us. Upon check-in, I inquired about food service and was informed that it was not available. Unfortunately, I was not given any suggestions for alternative dining options nearby. When I asked about booking a taxi through reception, I was also informed that this was not a standard service provided. I then asked about information for taxis in the room, but have yet to receive a response. The breakfast selection was satisfactory. The room had a peculiar sink tap with a sensor that only dispensed water for a brief moment when activated.
The room was lovely and comfortable, very clean with a spotless bathroom that looked newly renovated. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and milk provided. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. The location near the train station was convenient.
First time here and wow it did not disappoint. Service from start to finish was top class. Oh and the food was yummy and amazing. Sunil was our waiter and was top class. The owner was so courteous and kind. Will definitely be returning and would say this is what Perth needs.
We stayed three nights at the Gampian and attended the Fridge Festival in Edinburgh. The room was comfortable and clean. the shower pressure was good and the bed comfortable. Although we were given earplugs for noise we did not use them as it was not noisy at all. The breakfast was average but sufficient.
