La Caz en Paille Specialites Reunionnaise

We were looking for Creperie du Theatre, recommended for fresh food on TA, but it was closed. We kept wandering-only bars seemed to be open. We bumped into this small place, inviting but empty. The owner/cook was most friendly and welcoming, happy to accommodate my vegetarian needs. I got a big green salad with unique delicious dressing and coconut flan. My companion enjoyed her chicken and lentils and fruit salad. Food and wine were good and reasonably priced. Best was its being open and the conversation.

Having spent 2 weeks in Reunion some time ago it was a surprise to find this tiny restaurant in Perpignan. The owner welcomes, serves the bar, cooks the food and waits tables so the service can be a bit slow but this took us back to our holiday on the island. The food was just as we remembered it and the rum punch was pretty good too! Could be described as "cheap 'n cheerful but worth a try, especially if you like something a bit different!

We tried to eat here twice during our stay, but it opens unusual hours. When we did get in, it was well worth it. Great service, lovely food. VERY CHEAP. i had boudin noirs for starters, my wife had something which were similar to samosas and dum sin dumplings. She said they were the best starter she'd had in france. My wifes main was chicken, mine was lamb, we had similar vegetables, which were beautifully cooked. The house dessert was a beautiful coconut milk pudding, very light, The entire bill was 37 euros, including my wife's glass of rose. Wonderful. man serving. Theme is food from La Reunion, an Indian Ocean island with French heritage.

Very tasty, light, healthy, fresh and (!) Extremely affordable! We had 3 courses lunch for 13 euros each and we loved it. The cuisine is special -it is from Reunion which is an island somewhere close ti Madagascar. It hasvery nice flavors and spices that i would never try elsewhere. My husband said he would eat there 3 times a week if he could. The place is very simple and non pretentious, the service was very friendly and personal and fast. So 5 star cause it is well worth it.

Had lunch there today. Excellent food. Our kids loved it as did we. Highly recommended. Very reasonably priced 3 course lunch for euro 13.
