We... read more We are staying in Claira outside Perpignan, and popped in to wander the streets. There are many good street restaurants in Perpignan's lanes in the old town. We lucked on the El Serrano! It sits either side of the Rue de la Cloche d'Or. Inside...or street lunch. The tapas is excellent. The decor Spanish Catalan and charming. For the price they probably deserve a 5 rating. Good value. The food in Provence is simply disappointing, fast tourist oriented. Here in Perpignan the area may not be fashionable aka Provence but the food and atmosphere is genuine and still the high standards we remember as once being typical of France. Well done El Serrano.
