This place is always hopping so be sure to arrive early or be prepared to wait. This restaurant has a lovely view of the lake. The food is a good mix of seafood and non-seafood dishes. We had the calamari (good but a bit too salty), pad Thai (good but flavors all blended) and fish tacos (delicious - would recommend asking for no jalapeños if you don't like spicy). Service was good. We will be back! View all feedback.
What Demond Towne doesn't like about Saltys Beach Restaurant:
Not bad. Not good. Service medium. Oven not working. Think…..Ruby Tuesday with a little less of the plastic squeeze bag feel. I will say that the iceberg wedge salad was more like a dessert which was…..probably a miss. You decide. But with a view like...this of the lake, you get the traffic so the food is a second thought. Even though it needs some first thought consideration. . View all feedback.
Fantastic atmosphere- Pirate theme- beachy feel. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is pretty good too. We had the fisherman's pot and it was really good. It was a little bit spicy, but good. Try the Radler Beer jug- excellent!
Cruising the shorelines of Penticton beaches "Top Down". Ended a fabulous day in the sunshine at a terrific lake front restaurant called "Salty's". Great food, great menu a d prices, beautiful servers ----- what more can one say
If you are just going for drinks it's a great spot. My experience was that the food is just average with some dishes way over seasoned.
We went to Salty's for dinner. It was very busy and noisy. So noisy with people and music that you cannot speak to or hear the person across the table from you. Our waiter was fast and friendly. The food was tasty and large portions. The fancy cocktails were ornamental and fun. Dessert was fantastic! Prices were reasonable. Take it for what it is, a beach bar and restaurant, and you won't be disappointed at all.
I don't know if this restaurant is typically this well attended but it sure was a hoppin' when we came during Peachfest. Across from the beach, Salty's definitely has great views especially from the upstairs outdoor patio which is where I would suggest requesting a table for this very reason. As for the food, Salty's leans heavily on seafood prepared the West Coast way. In our party we had the fish tacos, fish and chips and others well prepared dishes. The fish in the fish and chips is cod (would have preferred halibut) but they give large portions and the tartar sauce is tasty as it is dill infused. The chips are thin; I prefer larger slices but that is just a personal preference. The fish tacos are excellent as well. A hefty drink menu rounds out the offerings. The service was adequate for a loud, casual eatery. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, quick, and friendly. Good enough for me.Price is standard; certainly not outrageous. On the upper end of mid range. My only complaint pertain to the seats. I found them quite uncomfortable. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Four stars.
