It was our first time to eat here. It was amazing. The cocktails were great. I had the fish tacos, and my husband had filled the crab redfish. Cream brûlée was great. Our waitress Gina was super attentive, professional and so a sweet person. We'll be back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about South Market:
I tried the chicken salad sandwich, and while the salad itself was decent, there was way too much bread—I’d recommend serving it on a croissant or with crackers instead. The seasoned potatoes were nice but lacked any crunch. On a positive note, the waffles were fantastic; just be prepared for something sweet! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the whipped cream was fresh.

Absolutely fantastic food, service, and a remarkable Executive Chef! I ordered the shrimp and grits, which often fall flat or are overly seasoned, but these were just right! The vegetables were cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was bursting with flavor. We began our meal with baked oysters on the half shell, and they were equally impressive. My husband enjoyed the smoked gouda burger and couldn’t stop raving about it. The view of the water enhanced the overall atmosphere beautifully. I wish I could give it 10 stars! Just go—you won’t regret it!
I would rate the food 5 stars, but the service and atmosphere deserve only 2 stars. We ordered the smoked gouda burger, French dip, and spinach artichoke dip, and everything was absolutely delicious. However, the restaurant feels like it's missing something; the interior lacks character and has a cold, uninviting atmosphere. Our waiter seemed indifferent and gave off the impression that he was just trying to get through his shift. He was neither friendly nor attentive.
We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner with a party of 14. My duck breast was cooked to perfection, but a friend's duck was served almost rare. After sending it back for reheating, it returned overcooked. The best value for the meal was the steak, which unfortunately arrived at the table on the cooler side. Most of the dishes for our group were served less than warm. On a positive note, the presentation was lovely. The restaurant boasts a great view and has a beautiful building with friendly staff, but I’m not sure it’s ideal for larger groups.
Nice restaurant overall. We arrived at 1030am on a Sunday, and at that time it wasn't overly crowded. During our visit, it quickly filled up. Staff was polite but nothing extra. It took over 10 minutes to get greeted or even acknowledged whenentering the restaurant and waiting on a table. Several staff members saw us enter and wait to be addressed. Some even came tothe front area but didn't even say a word as they walked away. I guess it was someone else's problem. The water glasses at ourtable had more than a reasonable amount of spots on them. It is unappealing when wait staff touches the rim of the glass thatthey expect you to drink from. Food was good. I had the shrimp and grits which was tasty. I was a little disappointed onpresentation. (NOT exactly what I expected but it was good. The restaurant is at a great location and beautifully decorated.Unfortunately when it starts to fill up with people, it is a SERIOUS struggle to maintain a conversation because it is EXTREMELYloud. It was difficult to understand people at our own table due to everyone speaking louder and typical dining noises. It'salmost unreasonable. Just frustrating when you plan a brunch to catch up or celebrate and you can't even hear people at your owntable. Undecided if we'd return. Just overall not that impressed.
Great views! Great food! Bottomless and probably the best mimosas I've ever had! And the waitress Calan was amazing! We will definitely return!
