the chief told me it wasn't burned when I took it back. very reluctantly replaced my meal! very disappointing experience! the first 2 photos are the first snitzel. grateful for the possible replacement according to the argument of the cook and grateful that it as a golden scnitzel. was cooked twice. if only the kitchen staff could take feedback instead of contest with customers! We were hankering for a steak last night and decided to try the POW. This is a typical no frills pub and the meals are typical pub grub....but very, very good. Friendly staff, great local wines by the glass...a great package! I had the 400 Gm Scotch fillet, the lovely had the Eye fillet. Both were requested medium, both cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. Washed down with a magnificent Katnook estate 2015 Cab Sav......left a happy man!!
A typical Australian country pub with a classic old style dining room Good hearty food on a quiet night
Such a great country pub doing what good country pubs do best; good food, good service, good atmosphere. Had a lovely Saturday night meal with my husband and toddler. Menu is wide ranging and prices are easily affordable. Dinner was out within ten minutes (and I had Porterhouse, it was cooked beautifully) Facilities are great; changing table for babies is really well set up. A visit to the POW will not disappoint.
