Uma agradável surpresa. Um sável muito bom e lampreia divinal e a simpatia do todos os funcionários
A lovely drive down the Douro Vslley saw us (sans kids) looking for somewhere to eat. Lots of options but we settled on Entre os Rios only to discover it was a public holiday and most places weren’t serving food. Then we found Cafe Finanha by the roadside. There was a reassuring burble if noise from outside and it was nearly full, but space for us. Menu in Portuguese but the waitress explained it and suggested the octopus and the pork. Starter of sausage was interesting. Half an octopus was huge but judged tasty. Too much for my partner to finish. The pork was huge but so tender and somehow I forced it and the accompaniments down. Interesting use of pickled vegetables in the dish! Bit of a surprise when buying into the carrot to find that! Puds has to be done. Choc mousse was surprisingly light and very tasty. The cake of the day was like a creme caramel, but not quite the same. We left as two happy punters. About €20 per head for 3 courses. Well worth it for what we had!
I think we’ll have dinner there multiple times as long as we’re here on holidays! Food was simple but excellent.
So good, the meal was amazing and the wine to. The menu is in Portuguesas but, the waiter explain to us.
