great staff and owner tool great care of our group. it is a fun place for a party. Note that the food is good bar food, but in our case we had it catered in and used their bar for drinks. View all feedback.
What Nate Terpstra doesn't like about The Beer Hog:
The bartenders were extremely cold and unfriendly. The pizza is terrible. The crust is clearly a frozen premade reheated to barely edible temperature, and the topping were clearly undercooked. The beer was serviceable and the only element that was marginally satisfactory. If you have any other options don't come here. Loved it. First time to this cool place and we will be back. Love the craft beers!
This is some good pizza, coming from someone who is from Chicago.

I have been waiting for about a year now to try Beer Hog. Unfortunately, I don't get down to the Oak Mountain/Pelham area that much, but this place was definitely worth the wait.Beer Hog reminds me of the Casual Pint but it is much more expanded and appealing with a lot more beers on tap. Plus, the place has more of a neighborhood microbrew feel than the Casual Pint in Hoover, which is quiet small. We crashed the place around 7 PM on a Saturday night and it was slammed packed. There was a great cover band and about 50 beers on tap along with wine and canned beer offerings. Bonus tip if you are into IPAs, please try Ghost in the Machine it was amazingly good. While I did not try the food (we had reservations at the oyster house next store, which was also excellent), the pizzas looked tasty and quite a few people were ordering them. The side patio and back game room were also nice additions to the place. Also, Beer Hog is located in a former elementary school building and shares the suite space with several other businesses. The building is a trip as a lot of the old school structure (bathrooms) still have not be retrofitted for adults, so the sinks are nearly on the floor. This is definitely one of the better bars in the greater Birmingham metro area. Check it out!
I would go as high as 4.5 stars. The beer selections never disappoint. The food could be better. The pizza is a half a step above Totinos frozen pizza. I will say that the beer cheese and pretzel balls are pretty good though. The place is pretty clean too. If they had a great pizza place or burger joint across the patio from them, I think that would be the local go to spot in Pelham!
