Was Robin Grüll at Fin Brew a mag?

We were offered a table inside or out but when outside was too cold and windy were told we could only sit at the bar inside. They were overbooked and we learned the hard lesson of not opting for outside. View all feedback.

What jasmin ciliberti dislikes about Fin Brew:

New Year’s Eve dinner was a total rip off. The food was subpar at best. The price was astronomical. And the service was weak in a restaurant that wasn’t packed. At one point my husband and I were sharing silverware. View all feedback.

The meal was covered with overthought spices and sauces and somewhere underneath it all there was food hiding. Prices are way above what the fare was worth. Drinks were very good but once again pricey. Nice view of the Hudson from the deck. Parking: Walking distance from restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Meal Type: Lunch Price per Person: $100+ Food: ★★★★★ Service: ★★★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★★ I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch. The grilled octopus is a must-try dish, and their service is exceptional. The atmosphere is delightful and adds to the overall dining experience. For vegetarians, the menu offers a variety of clearly labeled vegetarian options, making it easy to find something delicious to enjoy.

Really nice restaurant. We went to celebrate my son's birthday. They were having a $49.99 Tasting menu where you picked an appetizer, main course and a dessert. The flavors were fresh and delicious. The chef came to our table several times to make sure we were happy with everything. We will definitely come back!

The standout dish of the meal was a generous ramen seafood bowl filled with bok choy, spicy broth, noodles, clams, mussels, white fish, and tender shrimp—delicious enough to share between two people. The tuna sushi roll was excellent and complemented the ramen perfectly. They also serve good homemade craft beer, a nice house Cabernet, and a mocktail. The restaurant was three-quarters full, so there was a bit of a wait for the entrees, but we didn’t mind as the view was great. As for prices in 2024, expect to pay $30 to $40 for anything with protein.

Last night was no exception. Despite the restaurant buzzing with diners, including a celebrity group at the large round table beneath a whimsical mural of a giant octopus attacking a ship (I couldn't help but joke about enjoying one of its relatives as I waited for my appetizer), the atmosphere remained lively yet welcoming. Chef Mike oversees the kitchen with passion and creativity, making it a point to personally greet guests, often alongside his sous chef Sarah. Their visits feel like a warm addition to the dining experience rather than an interruption, and they are always eager to share insights about the dishes and their inspirations. You never know who might be dining nearby, adding to the restaurant’s charm. The “captain’s table,” known for its lazy Susan, was occupied by notable figures like actor/comedian Tate Donovan, AMD's senior vice president Forrest Norrod, and actress Sadie Sink, among others. They were enjoying their evening as we arrived and continued to do so as we wrapped up our meal. I started the evening with a delightful passionfruit cocktail, followed by Korean fried octopus and wild Hokkaido scallops that nearly made me swoon. The octopus was incredibly tender—best I’ve ever had—coated in a delightful sweet, savory, and spicy sauce that complemented it perfectly. Free of heavy breading, the octopus truly stood out. The scallops were cooked to perfection, accompanied by a potato strata, homemade blue potato chips, and a creamy sauce elegantly poured over the dish by our server. My companions enjoyed the yin yang roll, onion baddies (which I sampled and found indescribably delicious!), as well as the Long Island Duck and Fisherman’s Stew—all reported to be excellent. Chef Mike certainly excels at fusion cuisine! For dessert, we knew we couldn't hold back, as all desserts are made in-house by Sous Chef Sarah. We shared the Cherry Poppin' toffee pudding, carrot cake, and Rhubarb Rose. Unfortunately, due to a chocolate allergy at our table, we missed trying the Choc Daddy, but I fully intend to return soon to sample it. The Cherry Poppin’ offered a delightful twist on toffee pudding, using tangy dried sour cherries instead of the usual dates and brightening the dish with Meyer lemons in the sauce. The Rhubarb Rose was a visual masterpiece reminiscent of Willy Wonka: bright and colorful, built on a gluten-free almond cake layered with poached rhubarb, a rich vanilla-rhubarb mousse, lime streusel, and charming curls of rhubarb crisps. Absolutely delicious! The carrot cake was undoubtedly the best I’ve ever tasted, showcasing Chef Sarah's ability to deliver desserts that are nuanced and balanced—decadent yet never overly sweet—a perfect finale to a truly delightful meal shared with great company, all while overlooking a gorgeous view. Just go already! (However, if you dislike waiting, be sure to make a reservation, and for a quieter experience, consider visiting on a Thursday or Sunday.)

I had another wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious, but the atmosphere was even more impressive. It's situated in a beautiful waterfront location.

I can hardly believe how delicious every meal I've had here is. It's truly an underrated gem! Tonight's dinner was another fantastic experience, and we were lucky enough to eat outside, which was just perfect.

The sushi is on par with high-end NYC quality. I tried a spicy tuna roll that was fresh with a satisfying kick. Impressed by the freshness, I decided to put them to the test with Ikura and Toro sushi. Both were fantastic—the Ikura had a wonderful texture, and the Toro melted in your mouth. The beer selection was also thoughtfully curated; I particularly enjoyed the Timontorne maibock. The chef came out to chat with us and shared insights about how they source and prepare the food. His passion for the menu, the sushi, and the quality of the dishes was evident, and he genuinely wanted to know if we enjoyed our meal. I’ll definitely be returning frequently. The service was attentive, friendly, and spot-on. Don’t forget to tip well!

We had such an incredible meal at Fin Brew. Every dish was perfection. Beautiful location, excellent drinks, kind staff, beautiful presentation. Favorite dish was the Heirloom tomato salad. And the sushi was so fresh. Will go back again and again!

This waterfront, seasonal menu restaurant specializing in seafood comfort fare should be in your must try list. Not only were the staff friendly, the food tastes heavenly! I couldn't help myself, so I googled who the chef was. He even came out to meet us. Thank you Chef Mike! Looking forward to trying the dinner menu soon!

First of all one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten out hands down. The chef and staff are friendly and the food is off the charts good. Trust the chef and his vision and you will not be disappointed. Flavors galore, it feels like you're traveling down the yellow brick road and experiencing another hidden concoction. My new favorite restaurant in all of NY.

Food is high quality and delicious. The desserts by the pastry chef, Sarah, are really amazing! Riverside so outdoor dining can be extra cold/windy or hot weather dependent. They priced the food higher than many restaurants out here, but the food is worth it. We always leave happy and full! I’ve eaten here a total of three times now (it’s more of a special occasion spot for us) and each time I’ve been impressed. Last time we were there I ordered the sushi tasting platter and really enjoyed it. We loved how Chef Mike talked to each table and connected with the diners. We felt very at home and the atmosphere was romantic, friendly and cozy. They seem to have a venue for weddings and other events. I peeked in and it looks fantastic with a great view of the river!

My wife and I visited Fin and Brew for a date night, and we had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, the staff was welcoming, and the location right by the water was perfect! I highly recommend the sushi, and the steak was incredible as well! We can't wait to return!
