Reviews - Carmen’s
Reviews summary
Nestled in Peekskill, this new Dominican restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While many patrons rave about the delicious food—like the perfectly cooked oxtail and flavorful fried chicken—concerns around customer service and pricing persist. Some diners report loud music and burned rice, while others highlight the friendly staff and generous portions. Despite hiccups with deliveries and high prices, the overall consensus leans towards satisfaction with the cuisine. Regulars appreciate the much-needed Caribbean fare and hope for more offerings in the future, suggesting that while improvements are needed, the foundation for a promising dining experience is established.
Was heaven troche at Carmen’s a mag?
My friend and I went to the restaurant and ordered the mangu with Los tres golpes and a cafe con leche...it was perfect. The restaurant is a bit old and worn down, but the food was so delicious that it didn't bother us. The only downside is that I have trouble reaching them on the phone, as it always goes to voicemail. This makes it impossible to place orders ahead of time by phone. View all feedback.
What R Zel dislikes about Carmen’s:
The restaurant was empty, but the music was so loud that we assumed it was open. The food was too salty for my liking, so we decided to give it a try. However, we probably won't be returning. It was good to give it a chance, but now we know the outcome. View all feedback.

Over price, 20.00 for a breakfast, no coffee. It's not a 10- 20 location. Not looking forward to visiting again. Needs an appearance change.

Ordered catering for a business lunch, requested 1130 delivery. At 12pm I called to find out why my food hasn’t arrived, was told by Carmen she would call me back in 5 min with an update, no call. I waited 15 no and called back, no answer multiple times. So I had a colleague of mine call from her call and they answered then hung up on her when they realized she was inquiring about the catering order. I had a third colleague call and finally Carmen told her with an attitude that the food was on the way. At 1245 (after the business lunch was over) the delivery driver arrived at the office and spilled the food all over the floor. He told me he would return with more food, they never came back and have screened all of my calls and refuse to answer the phone. I’ve never had an experience this horrible in my life! First and last time I use this establishment and obviously I would never recommend to anyone.

Delicious Dominican food! I recommend the oxtail. So much flavor and well seasoned.
Food was delicious and everyone there is so warm and kind! Buena Suerte, Carmen and family!!
Great service ,great food. Your missing out if you haven't come here. One of the things that I truly missed living in lower Westchester was access to Caribbean Latin Cuisine. They are going to do great here.
I was thrilled to discover a Dominican restaurant offering authentic cuisine in our area. The food was absolutely delicious! The owner and staff were incredibly kind and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be returning!
