A mixed experience: the menu is small but the food is imaginative, fresh and elaborate and overall very tasty and nice.the hard seats (some are metal garden chairs, others school chairs) are very uncomfortable and not matching the level of food and cost of the restaurant itself. the décor is dull and cantina like but the staff are very pleasant and helpful.so overall you go there for the food but be prepared to have a sore backside at the end of the meal and to pay quite a high price for it.
We came in on a rainy Saturday night at the start of July. The menu was simple in terms of choices, but complex in terms of content! This was good news, though. We settled on the 6 course tasting menu. A really great meal, bursting with flavor s throughout. I would thoroughly recommend Detours.
My husband and I had had such a wonderful meal at Detours we came back a second night. This really is fresh, locally sourced French food at its best. Beautifully presented meals that compliment some of the best produce of the region. The meals are complimented by a wonderful and affordable wine list with the added bonus of many of the wines offered by the glass. That way you can easily match the wine to each course without breaking the bank. The owners, Anne who works at front of house and chef husband, obviously have a passion for their restaurant and food they deliver. Anne is an excellent host, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Don't go past Detours.
We went to Détours for dinner and had an absolutely nice meal; the flavors were exceptional and had clearly tested for perfection. Ingredients were fresh and their individual flavors allowed to come through sauces, added each dish. I would recommend keeping a table, and... You were very limited to the menu options, but as long as you are omnivorous you are for a contract.
