I ate here alone after a leisurely stroll down the Boulevard to the old town. I chose the location because of the view of the mountains across the old square and the view of the Chateaux. I ordered Confit de Canard which was succulent on the inside, crisp on the outside and came with a small range of vegetables. This is not a place that serves Confit de Canard with French Fries! It was elegant, beautiful, and the staff were charming. Not a stuck-up waiter in sight. I followed my main course with an ice cream dessert that came with fresh fruit. A delicious meal and worth a return visit. Make sure you sit further back under the parasols because the summer sun appears around the corner just after lunch and this can be very hot.
One of the best value meals ever. Plats du jour for 14 euros including one of the best beef bourguignon's I have ever had. Delightful owner and staff and a lovely view of the very pretty Chateau
This place is great. Five of us went in early November. It is run by a couple of very French and wonderful old girls. The recent controversy about the rise in pension age in France is of no consequence to them as they reached it years ago. The service is very good and very personable. I am vegetarian and this can be a real issue in France. Here? No problems whatsoever. I had the sheep's cheese salad to start and a a ensemble of veg (not unlike ratatouille), with their normal side dishes. We had beer and some wine and were very pleasantly surprised by the bill.In addition, it has a wonderful view of the château as it is situation on the edge of the moat area.Go there - that's an order.
Staff aren't as friendly as they could be, but from what I've seen between how busy it is, and how rude customers are that walk in, I don't blame them.
I ate here alone after a cozy walk through the boulevard in the old town. I chose the location due to the view of the mountains over the old square and the view of the Chateaux. I ordered Confit de Canard, who was juicy on the inside, cracked outside and came with a small selection of vegetables. This is not a place that serves Confit de Canard with French Fries! It was elegant, beautiful and the staff was charming. Not a fixed waiter in sight. I followed my main course with an ice dessert that came with fresh fruit. A delicious meal and a return trip. Make sure you continue to sit under the umbrellas because the summer sun will appear around the corner shortly after lunch and this can be very hot.
