Description

Perched on Silay’s shoreline, this floating restaurant is celebrated for fresh, affordably priced seafood—grilled blue marlin, calamari and mixed platters—served in a relaxed native‑bamboo setting ideal for sunsets. Portions and flavor earn consistent praise, and staff are mostly friendly with free parking and spacious seating. Guests are advised to reserve and arrive early for parking. Occasional slow kitchen times, small restrooms and an isolated billing dispute have tempered some visits, but overall it remains a popular choice for families, groups and romantic evenings by the sea.

I always make it a point to visit this place whenever I’m in Silay City for my annual vacation abroad. This time, we celebrated my sister’s birthday here, and I must say the place consistently delivers in terms of food, service, and ambiance. However, the experience could be enhanced if they offered free or paid Wi-Fi, as the reception in the area is not great. There’s a piso-Wi-Fi available at the store across the street, though. My dining experience at Melkens Short Call by BALARIN in Silay was delightful. The crab, blue marlin, and shrimp were exquisite, complemented perfectly by the stunning view. However, the presence of mosquitos was a bit of a distraction from the otherwise wonderful meal. Despite this, the quality of the food makes it worth a visit. Service: Dine in

Every time we go back home to Negros, we make it a point to eat at Melkens. Parking can be challenging, but it's always worth the wait. The seafood is consistently fresh and delicious. Our favorite dishes include calamares, sinigang manumbok, buttered shrimp, sizzling sisig, and stuffed squid. The ambiance is okay but can be a little hot, so just ask the waiter to put on an electric fan. Highly recommend this place for seafood lovers. 5 stars! Service: Dine in

Melkens Floating Restaurant, Balaring, Silay City namian pa ko tani because my boyfriend, friend and I ate here, my family ate here. There wasn't a lot of people who came today and I wanted to enjoy the sunset with my friend. When I asked for the bill I gave my P1000 together with my pwd, when she came back she was smiling and gave me P80. I asked for the receipt. It took a long time to come so we went to the cashier. The waitress was there together with another lady who was counting how much change I should get and it was P125.71. Amu na kamo ni mag change subong!? May tago and if I didn't come I wouldn't have known? Or was it specifically for us kay sang sugod pa lang babaw dalom na panulok sang waitress kay daw poor kami? Nami pa tani celebrate ko. I chose the wrong Restaurant to celebrate in. Thank you na lang Melken's won't be coming back.
