My workmate and I had a wonderful lunch at Cafe Mediterranean at The Podium.
I ordered Moussaka while my friend had Grilled Chicken Gyro Plate. Moussaka is the Greek style lasagna, with eggplant, ground beef and bechamel. Love this dish the most with pita. The Gyro Plate is generous with pita and hummus.
The service is great and the food is delicious, as always. Just be a little patient as they take a while to coo... View all feedback.
What Garfield Schmitt doesn't like about The Cafe Mediterranean:
Ordered the eggplant parmigiana casserole was surprisingly not big for the price but there was a generous amount of cheese and it was really delicious! We also tried their grilled chicken gyros and grilled beef gyros with regular pita. Both gyros looked small but it was actually heavy when you eat them na. It was my first time to try Mediterranean food and I found it quiet good. Since I was with my sis in law that time who has been to Greece.. She was pushing me to try this kind of food, the hesitant me had no choice but to go inside. Aside from being my first time, I also don't eat spicy food so i was expecting I will not enjoy the food. I ordered grilled chicken with couscous. And the others had grilled lamb with basmati rice, pasta and my sis in law had Greek salad. As an ordinary person who never tried this kind of food.. I didn't like the couscous. So I ordered basmati rice but again, I didn't like it.. Though I really liked the chicken I thought it's spicy and they are very generous with sauces. Price was reasonable. The place was quiet nice gives you that Greek kinda feeling. All in all.. It's good.
If you want good ingredients in your Mediterranean food without breaking your budget, Cafè Mediterranean is a good enough choice. Their gyros and kebabs come in a set meal, so you are getting all they you need to have to make you full. I enjoyed my chicken kabab very much, with the tabouleh and yogurt side. The salad was filled with all Mediterranean goodness of olives and feta along with the vegetables.
The name says it all, for good and fairly priced Mediterranean food, come to Cafe Med. I've been coming to this place for a long time and I always enjoy my visits. I like their tiled floors with intricate and colorful designs, their glass lamp ornaments on the wall and the fact that their gyro spit is right there, at the center of their dispatching area, for you to marvel at. We always get their Small Plates of starters like the Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tzatsiki, Falafel and Kofta with a side order of their whole wheat Pita Bread. They've got it all at Cafe Med, soups, pastas, salads, pizzas, but the real stars are their Gyros and Kebabs. I really can't resist ordering their Grilled Lamb Kebabs with Tabbouleh and buttered rice. You can't beat the value at P225! Their Gyros are stuffed with freshly sliced meat from their spit and served with all sorts of veg. Dress it with their garlic sauces (mild or spicy) strategically placed on every table for your convenience. For great Mediterranean cuisine that won't break the bank, Cafe Med is always my obvious choice.
