I really enjoyed the Tex Burger and the Mac Cheese. However, the side of ranch for the fries was a bit disappointing. The service was excellent, and the music was pleasant in both content and volume. Overall, I would rate the food a 4, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. View all feedback.
What Cathy Rinkovsky doesn't like about Riverwalck Saloon:
This restaurant is geared towards a younger crowd, typically those aged 20 to 35. I don't think it's an ideal spot for older patrons, as the chairs inside are uncomfortable and the rooms are quite small. The outdoor area is unique, but the stone walkway can be unstable, which may pose a challenge for older guests. On a positive note, the ladies' room is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The waitress was good and attentive. Took 1 hr and 15 mins to get our food. Watched people get food who came 1/2 hr after us and a couple who sat at least 20 mins after us came, ate and left. When we asked for a check for our drinks and planned on leaving the waitress said the food showed as ready. I'm sure it had been sitting there because it wasn't overly warm.
Wait was extremely long. Server was courteous explained about delay. Burgers were juicy, tasty, cooked just right.
Cleaned up Google review: This place is tucked right at the mouth of a creek that feeds the Lehigh River, making it such a neat location. The erosive force of the river dances in harmony with the curves of the Appalachian Mountains, creating a breathtaking view from the far bank. The establishment is large and spacious, with plenty of nooks and crannies where you can find privacy. Whether you prefer one of the few fire pits, a table overlooking the creekside, the game room, indoor arrangements, or one of their covered outdoor bars and tables, you can enjoy food and drink service wherever you choose. On this particular evening, I decided to clear my head with a little fishing since I arrived during the dinner hour and knew there would be a wait for my food. It's unfortunate that for every bad review, there are at least 10 outstanding reviews that never get posted because people have other priorities. While standing in the water, I overheard comments about the quality of the food and the treatment of servers. Unreasonable expectations and ignorance in understanding the process of food and beverage distribution often lead to negative reviews. Tonight, a group of individuals left a one-star review and displayed nothing but rudeness and misery from the moment they sat down. It's a shame that restaurants don't have the opportunity to defend themselves and their staff members against those who express their dissatisfaction with belittlement and reprimand towards the server. Servers rely on tips as part of their income, so there are no repercussions for customers who complain about the timeliness of their order when they arrive during the dinner rush. This lack of character is truly despicable. Every time I've been to this place, the food and service have been outstanding. It can get crowded at times, especially during themed events, so be prepared to wait. I must warn you, the gumbo is in a league of its own, but it's not always available since they make it fresh and it's very popular. I highly recommend trying it, just make sure to get there early. Before posting a review, I urge you to sleep on it and think about the world outside of your bubble. Use logic and set attainable expectations. The pace at which servers work for hours on end would be overwhelming for many of those who feel the need to write negative reviews. Spreading your misery at the expense of others is unjust and affects the lives of those working hard to provide a great experience.
The best BBQ joint around. I ordered the smokestack about had a heart attack when I saw the amount of juicy meat on my plate! We loved being able to eat outside where we could take in the beauty of the Pocono mountains and river surrounding us. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip!
I got many things off the menu and came with 7 people, all the appetizers and main meals were disgusting and disappointing. The $38 “smocked stack” is terrible, first of all you can tell it’s very old, at least two weeks old, I worked as a butcher so I would know. The dish it’s dry and not tasty. The ceaser salad is an insult. I ordered chicken and rice for my child, the size they gave me was a joke and it was so bad. She was laughing when she got her chicken because she thought they mistaked her order, but it was fill serious. The rice was HORRIBLE, a real joke. Don’t even get me started on the waiting time.. waiting time is crazy we got our food 1:30+ mins after ordering it. The people who came after us got their food first, fair? No it’s not. The French fries with their “seasoning” and “cheese” was gut wrenching; clearly it was burned, also old and made is very cheap bad oil. This place only has good rating because it’s next to a stream, which made the great view, and obviously boosts their reviews. Except beer, everything else is completely tasteless, old, and definitely not worth the price. I spent $300+ dollars and was a complete waste, unbelievable how they feed people with this type low quality and service.
