Was catherine Elizabeth Mason at Pho Pasteur a mag?
+3 standard points for standard food br/ +1 sweet pickled onions br/ +1 deep broth br/ +1 no cilantro br/ +1 nostalgia br/ 5 pho-rever in my heart br/ br/ The pho broth here is rich with a heavier beef flavour. Not as clear and crisp as some other establishments, but warm and so very soul reviving! Portion size is very satisfying too : br/ br/ I highly recommend the spring rolls! Wrap in lettuce for extra crunch! The noodle salad with pork chops is good too. br/ br/ I was torn on this place, but after trying a bunch of other pho places (city, strathfield, hornsby I really can’t find anywhere that tops this. Might be the nostalgia though. The family that runs this joint I remember as a kid.
What Alexa Miller dislikes about Pho Pasteur:
very disappointing that the undersigned pho court came very salty. obviously the cook had not tasted the broth at all. we ordered two bowls and both came the same. for the price, the dish size was very small and under standard average they would expect. will not be coming back. there are many pho gemstones elsewhere View all feedback.
I usually get raw beef noodle soup whenever I come here but I wasn't feeling it on a Thursday night :P My friends felt like pho though, so who was I to argue? First time trying something that wasn't their pho so went with another favourite of mine - combination chow mein with crispy noodles! Portion size was huge which is good considering it was pretty pricey. But there were no scallops at all (understandable, scallops are soo expensive right now) and only one King Prawn! Everything else was great, the chicken perhaps a bit bland but it was decent all in all. The noodles were fried very well - not oily and had an interesting airy texture to it when you bite down. Will probably try something else next time, or just stick with a good old bowl of pho which they do decently ^^"
My favourite Pho in Parramatta. As a vegetarian their menu gives me plenty of choice and options. I recommemd their spicy vege pho, really tasty
It is not shocking that Australia may be the next place to enjoy some authentic Vietnamese food out of Vietnam. We are off the west side of Sydney today for some good Pho at Pho Pasteur just right next to the train station. To me, growing up in Melbourne, a good Pho restaurant has to have that unique smell. As soon as I stepped into the spacious eatery. I could already smell the herb aroma, as well as the sweet and sour taste from the fish sauce, spicy chilli sauce and much more. Grilled Pork Rice Paper Roll (AUD $7) The menu is pretty basic with a few variety of Pho, appetisers, and rice dishes. We have tried a few of their classics for our first visit. Their rice paper rolls are fresh as you can tell from the slightly sticky thin transparent paper roll. The grilled pork is really smokey but not too overwhelming because the rice noodles as well as the herbs inside the rolls are super fresh too. Their housemade sauce is pretty awesome because it's not just a simple peanut sauce, but it's rather sweet, and slightly savoury. A perfect compliment to any rice paper rolls. Pho Tai (AUD $11.50 for Medium $13 for Large) This is the Large size and the whole Pho bowl is covered with some rare beef slices. The first sip of the broth is gold! The intense beef stock flavour is flavourful but light at the same time. The only thing I wish they can improve would be the tempreture of the soup as I was expecting a bowl of boiling hot soup. Then I liked to add every toppings into my Pho bowl for extra crunch from the beanshoot, extra sourness from the lime and extra spiciness from the chilli slices. The beef slices are tender but it can be rarer to my liking. I personally liked the soup base more than the beef slices itself. The rice noodles are authentic and nicely cooked though. 3 Colour Bean Drink (AUD $4) We wanted to try their Vietnamese coffee but it's late at night so we decided to order this beautiful cooking drink that has a mix of beans and jelly, loaded with some creamy coconut milk. The drink is absolutely delicious because it's sweet, creamy, playful, also really filling. blogger-hk.blogspot.com
Authentic experience and delicious food. Generous and creative presentation of food. Not happy I was charged more than prices in menu.
Very nice and light pho! It’s the best rice noodles I’ve ever had, it’s thinner than normal ones which makes you feel light and easy after eating, the portion size and amount of beef they give is very generous too.Soup is a bit too sweet for me but still acceptable.I like the onion pickle in particular too.
