This restaurant is a great choice for a weekend breakfast. It is centrally located with convenient parking nearby.
We found this wonderful café next to Old Parliament House. Visiting on a sunny afternoon, we were delighted by the delicious baked goods available.
The cafe is situated under large shady oak trees on the edge of a park overlooking rose gardens which were in full bloom when we were there. The windows on the cafe slide and fold right back concertina-style to enable you to be immersed in the natural setting. I had the summer vegetable pie and salad which was very yummy. My husband had the 12hour slow cooked beef sandwich which he loved.
On Monday and Tuesdays they offer 2 for 1 pizzas. Pizza selections are great and lots toppings and fresh. Wine and beer expensive. Make sure you book if you want a table.
It is said that this restaurant is a popular lunch spot for politicians, which makes sense considering the location in Canberra. The cafe can get busy, but it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I was in the mood for a burger and a draft beer, and my cravings were definitely satisfied here.
