The owner of this place is incredibly nice to customers, he is always polite and calms you when you come back the next day!... So rare that happens in Paris. Delicious croissants and pain au chocolat, very honest prices. I'll be right back when I'm in Paris. View all feedback.
What Amparo Wehner doesn't like about Le Cheval Noir:
Two days in a row we visited this cafe for breakfast as the hotel where we stayed didn't offer any breakfast. For € you will get French breakfast a small piece of french bread, a croissant, marmelade, butter, orange juice and coffee/ tea...or warm choco). And € for English breakfast. Well it's not really an english breakfast as we only got (extra) omelette. But it is oke, enough for a breakfast, friendly people, good... View all feedback.
2 surprised by this small brewery in which we stopped before taking a train. menus in/output / dessert for less than fifteen euros, good products, a warm welcome, a pretty quick service nothing to say!
Early a.m., Eurostar train from London to Paris at Sa. 2/25/23. I wanted coffee and Croissant quickly before you went to Musee d'Orsay. We stopped at this cafe just outside Gare du Nord. The area is dodgy, and this particular place was not... very charming or clean looking, but it did in a pinch. I have very limited French vocabulary, but can speak French words correctly and know the basics, sil vous plait, merci beau coup, etc... I ordered 2 Americans and Croissant. After we finished, I asked about the bill. The counterman told me about 6 euros. I gave him a 20 E note. The returned amendment did not appear to be added. I requested my reception and after the Counter dude had printed it for me, I went a few next to the change I received to ask a few. The neighborhood saw this interaction and then came by and gave me another 10 euros. What I thought was the right change. He thought he could cheat the American. Some of us may not know the language, but we can start counting. Idiot. Don't go here. They're being cheated.
We thoght The guy served us was a wonderful character, although we didn't understand a word he said: It was another experience in Paris.
It turned out the blue search for food and drink that was not blackmailed. We were glad that they only calculated 15€ for a 1l bottle of Cotes du Rhones and 11,80€ for a 2-course lunch. The food and the wine were both delicious, we left the feeling full and happy. The only drawback was the condition of the toilets, they were not clean.
