Friendly and accommodating staff. A perfect afternoon in Paris!

I was very pleasantly surprised by my evening at Le Procope. One might think that such a historic establishment would rely on its reputation, its location, etc., but nothing could be further from the truth! The entire team is incredibly attentive, acting with distinction, kindness, and a wonderfully witty sense of humor. The dishes are of very high quality, especially considering their price. Bravo to this fine establishment, demanding of itself yet so welcoming to its guests.

Le Procope is a must‑visit when in Paris. Established in 1686, it offers a remarkable atmosphere enriched by centuries of history. Napoleon Bonaparte, Benjamin Franklin, and many other notable figures once dined within these walls, and that legacy is felt throughout the restaurant. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was outstanding as well; the sea bass was exceptional, and the pistachio gelato made for a perfect finish. Highly recommended.

We were on the first floor, left side, and it was unbearably hot. I just wanted to run away as fast as possible.

I went there twice in total. The food is bland and the service is mediocre. The first time, for a bill of €40, I was mistakenly presented with a bill for €100. The second time, because I hadn't left a tip, the waiter asked me if the service was bad. In France, there's hardly any tipping culture—I don't know where that comes from. It really feels like a tourist trap. I don't recommend it.
