What Melania Maniscalco doesn't like about Hobento Porta Felice:
The place moved to another street and we only learned about it after arriving on site. After several moments of searching for the aforementioned place, we finally manage to find it and it is decidedly disappointing: a very small space with just a couple of tables with attached chairs gathered here and there: a decidedly particular but limited menu. The guys were very kind and the dishes were good, but everything else... View all feedback.
Since I was traveling with adults, I needed Korean food, and I decided to visit because it was the only Korean restaurant in Palermo. I was worried because it was my first time at a Korean restaurant not run by Koreans, but the chef really prepared the food with great care. Not only was it delicious, but none of the side dishes were half-cooked. It was the most impressive treatment of any restaurant I've ever been to. The adults were satisfied, and my child really enjoyed it too. Plus, the freshly fried Nutella dumplings for dessert were a great mouth-watering treat. The stew was a little different from traditional Korean food, but it was delicious. Personally, the dolsot bibimbap was the best! If I visit Palermo again in the future, I plan to visit again. May you prosper..! Dietary restrictions: It is a very good restaurant that also considers people with allergies.
Very bad experience. We book the Ramen evening at 8pm. We arrive on time, and already the first negative note. We enter, after a while they ask us if we have a reservation, and at what time. We confirm at 8.00pm and the somewhat disoriented employee asks us: And what time is it? , as if showing up on time was optional. In short, the place begins to fill up. Too bad there was no background music, we were in complete silence until other guests arrived. Quite disappointing in terms of atmosphere. They bring us an appetizer ordered first among all the other tables, last, we start eating an hour after ordering. But still nothing about ramen. They serve us ramen at 9.30pm. So I wonder what 's the point of organizing a ramen evening, forcing people to book and arrive on time if the chef in charge arrives late (because the chef arrived half an hour after our booking time) and being served with an hour and half late. We didn 't like the ramen at all, a bowl full of tasteless spaghetti, the very heavy broth only tasted of fat and two pieces of meat and half an egg. I left all the ramen practically as it was served to me, my partner left more than half a bowl. Inedible, and the waiters didn 't even question two customers leaving the entire dish. We practically paid for not eating! Obviously at the checkout we weren 't even asked if we had eaten well. Absolutely not to be repeated, terrible service and equally bad food, what a disappointment.

Let me start by saying that years ago I tried the other Hobento location and I was happy with it but it wasn't the same at the Porta Felice location. Let's start from the fact that to book ramen you cannot call, it must be done exclusively via social media, waiting for the place to respond, so I happened to ask for a reservation and received a negative response the following day and therefore after having organized with friends, having to cancel. I point out that this booking method is, in my opinion, not very efficient but I am told that this is how they do it. Well, I pretend nothing happened and move on. At the next ramen night I manage to book 3 ramen for 8pm. We go to the restaurant on time (I think it was a Wednesday or Thursday and there was no mess at all) and they tell us right from the start that preparing the ramen takes time and they ask us if we want to order anything else. After consulting the menu we decide not to order anything and wait for the ramen, which is served to us more than 1 hour later. Now I understand everything but if I book you (not the table) but the portions for 8.00 pm you know that the portions must be ready approximately for that time. You can't make me wait 1 hour! The ramen was also good but not exceptional as far as I'm concerned and plus paying 2 euros cover charge for AWFUL service and for eating on paper placemats (as seen in the photo) seems excessive to me! Which is why I won't be going to your place again even though I wanted to try the Korean dishes. PS: we were also served a portion of ramen which was taken away as it belonged to another table, it would be a good idea to pay attention to these things because there may be customers with intolerances and bringing the wrong dish can have serious repercussions so maybe pay attention.
A corner of Korea in Palermo, a truly excellent surprise (I add to the previous review... after 1 month I am still waiting for the invoice requested at the time of the bill.... I advise you to pay upon receipt of the invoice... maybe they will remember) Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
