Pala really needs to hire more staff at the bar.

A male manager named Hasa approached us and insisted that we throw away our drinks, threatening us with eviction if we were caught doing it again. I explained t... read more A male manager named Hasa approached us and insisted that we throw away our drinks, threatening us with eviction if we were caught doing it again. I explained that the drinks were purchased from their gift shop and I had the receipt to prove it. He dismissively said, "I don’t care, and if I see you do that again, I will kick you out!" To start with, our bags were checked, and the receipt was with our drinks, making his behavior completely inappropriate. I understand the policy against outside drinks, but the way he addressed me was rude and unacceptable, especially considering he is the VP of operations for the casino. In conclusion, I can appreciate the rules, but the way he treated me was disheartening and has made me reconsider returning. Best of luck to you all.

Additionally, there were no cabanas available for r... read more The staff at the bar was quick and efficient, but it took quite a while for the pool attendants to serve us. Additionally, there were no cabanas available for rent, even though they were offered for complimentary use. About 80% of them were empty, which felt quite unreasonable, especially since I have a sun allergy and could have benefited from a cabana. Overall, it wasn't a great experience for our anniversary, especially since accommodations could have been made.

The setting is fairly nice, food quality is low, and the service was slow. They don't serve butter, only margarine with their toast. Everything was standard diner quality, factory farmed, bland. The potatoes were highly processed frozen. Ordered eggs with cheese and the shredded cheese wasn't even melted. Had an onion bagel with margarine. It was dry and cold. Coffee was okay. My fruit cup was decent, but was obviously not fresh organic or anything special. Hope they get a few things on the menu that would appeal to those guests looking for healthy and nutritious food while sitting pool side.

The service is always slow and the server always looks like she hates life and we're bothering her. On more than one occasion, we were the only people dining at a table and the servers would look in an opposite direction while they walk past us leaving the bar tender (who's been wonderful every time) to help us. I've even had a late breakfast here with not a single person at the pool, and the bar tender has had to take my order and give silverware because the server was off chatting it up with the towel guy. There have been times we've gotten hungry while at the pool, but rather than eat here, we've gone back to the room, gotten dressed, and eaten somewhere else. We've ordered a few beers while at the pool, but only directly from the bar tender.
