Zane Grey's - Paihia

Zane Grey's offered three vegan options, including banana blossom 'fish' and chips, butternut risotto, and Asian noodles. To top it off, they had a surprisingly delicious choice of chocolate mud cake or sorbet for dessert. The service at this restaurant was excellent, and the location was fantastic. It was truly a treat to dine at Zane Grey's.

I tried the vegan banana blossom with chips at this restaurant and found it to be just okay. I had a late lunch beforehand, so that may have affected my opinion. The banana blossom itself was bland and a bit watery, but I did enjoy the batter. The chips reminded me of those from a fish and chip shop, and the side salad was average. However, the service was excellent and we had a pleasant evening overall. The view was also lovely, and their house ale on tap was tasty. It was slightly disappointing to see the large fish tank on display.
