Every dish we tried was fantastic, especially the freshly caught fish served daily. On top of all this, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive—truly great value for money!

The prawn cocktail was delicious, and... read more Excellent food, fantastic location, and wonderful staff. I enjoyed the prawn cocktail, grilled prawns, oysters, and chips. The prawn cocktail was delicious, and the grilled prawns were amazing, though a little pricey. The oysters were quite large, which some of us found a bit too much, but that could be a plus for others. My only concern was that the beer lines for the Estrella seemed like they needed cleaning, as I noticed the difference. I switched to bottled beer, which was great. I would have mentioned the issue discreetly, but the staff that day weren’t very familiar with the bar. This may have been addressed later on, though. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the host during our second visit was excellent at his job, making everyone feel welcome as they entered. I will definitely be returning!

Amazing food and the nicest people,... read more My fiancé and I were really looking forward to going to this restaurant while we were in Paihia, and it did not disappoint! Amazing food and the nicest people, from the front of house team to the bartender to the owners of this lovely establishment. It was so good we went two nights in a row! Highly recommend the Seafood Platter for Two and to not skip dessert. Everything we tried was delicious and beautifully plated, but we especially enjoyed the salmon dill terrine and garlic butterflied prawns (part of the Seafood Platter) and the apple cake with custard. On our second visit, we finished eating 30 min before our ride was supposed to come. Louise saw us waiting around and called Chester, who kindly drove us back to where we were staying! We are so grateful for your kindness and hospitality, and we can’t wait to return for a round three the next time we visit Paihia!

The only downside was... read more This licensed venue offers fantastic seafood, stylish decor, and a well-stocked bar. I would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers. The only downside was the inadequate training of the front-of-house staff; they seemed unfamiliar with the menu, the POS system, and basic operational knowledge of the restaurant. This appears to be a management issue that needs to be addressed.

We ate in and the fish and chips came wrapped in paper but we got cutlery (so no greasy fingers). The sauce choices were good and we enjoyed the curry sauce (just with the chips of course). We also tried the scallops which were very fresh and cooked well (and came on a plate). A good selection of beer and wine was available, many local.
