Would for sure be back for a pre-dinner drink.

These bartenders are artistes, creating c... read more So far, BarCode has been our liquor oasis in Padova. Tiny and intimate, BarCode is a mixology emporium par excellence. These bartenders are artistes, creating cocktails from top shelf liquors from around the world. Again, I was the oldest human in the place, but I never felt uncomfortable. Well, that’s not true. BarCode is so narrow, it literally has no seats, except for a few tables on an upstairs landing. We stood all night. That was fine for me, because I was buzzed almost immediately, and my senses were dulled effectively. I could crack my head open, and not feel a thing. My wife, who is infinitely wiser in her consumption of alcohol, felt out of sorts with all the standing and jostling. Thus, be warned. BarCode is a fabulous cocktail bar, but it could use a bit more square footage. That may be impossible in the ancient town center of Padova. In the meantime, I will continue to frequent BarCode when I can.
