We came here for a friends birthday and it was the first time I had been. I have always wanted to try this place and I will certainly return and recommend to others. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience of the place was buzzing. It is also BYO wine, so make sure you take advantage of that. View all feedback.
What Deon Harvey doesn't like about Missy K:
This used to be an excellent restaurant with great service, great atmosphere, great food, and at reasonable prices. It was a favourite for my friends and family. I'm not sure why but they've tried to turn it into something it's not. The food is...still ok, but more expensive. They're charging $10 corkage on wine bottles now, and the waiters seem to be more focused on prepping ingredients for cocktails (that no one is... View all feedback.
Missy K used to be in a tiny place in Flinders Street Surry Hills, but has moved up to a bigger site next to the Captain Cook hotel. The food is consistently very good, and my wife loves the veggie dumplings. Did I mention dumplings?...The place is locally famous for them. Kung Pao chicken, and the most wonderful kingfish curry wow, the food is just great. A very reasonably priced Semillon a and we were away! Highly recommended.

Visiting Sydney and staying in the Paddington area and wanting some asian cuisine found this place on the internet sounded good so off we went .On arrival greeted by male staff member friendly but busy even though only 7 other people there ,seems he did...everything except cook. The place looked tired I was offered a hard metal chair instead of a stool when I wanted something more comfortable . Ordered our meals for starters we had 2 serves of dumplings these were ok. Our mains were pad thai Average ,the other steamed fish and vegetables in broth ,Awful !,a piece of bony unidentified fish on a few bok choi leaves in a watery broth $23.00 . Asked for drinks nothing on on tap so got a can of cider and a bottle of beer ,no glasses . first and last visit
It was a very pleasant surprise. The service was nice and smooth. importantly, the food was great! We had sechuan chicken and green vegetables. The both were very tasty! We will def come back and try different dishes.
This was out number one go to place the past few months something has happened the quirky staff are gone, missy k was there this last visit but not 2 times prior, prices are up, menu has subtle changes i.e. alaskan crab fried...rice to crab fried rice, kungpow chicken to kungpow popcorn chicken but the flavour has changed so the kitchen staff must have changed. We ordered Dumplings, rice and stirfry, so what came out was starry then rice as we finished the main, then semi frozen dumplings. I understand businesses are sold or owner retires but dumplings still frozen ? Big problem. I returned them and from two plates of 4 making 8 dumplings only had seven return as I had taken 1 over cooked as they handy provided new dumplings. I queried them so they went to cook us 1 more dumpling .... no real apology, fully charged ... Might be the last visit, sad to see.
