Rich in History. Shoestring was originally owned by Dick Siegel from 1959 to 1989. He was the cousin of Hugo Siegel, the owner of Hugo's Hot Dogs in Van Nuys. Hugo Siegel inspired Richard Walsh, who later opened Cupid's Hot Dogs, which has since become a franchise with multiple locations throughout the San Fernando Valley. Dick Siegel's family has since moved the iconic Shoestring hot dogs to Placerville, a small town in Northern California. This location continues to serve all the original menu items from the original restaurant, with the chili dog being the standout favorite.
A hip tiny location with a nice patio and creative burgers and mixed drinks This is what an american "pub" should model itself after.
Eaten there a few times and always the food is impeccable!!! Good prices service and portion size One of my fave eats in the valley
